The name

Throughout history the lamb has been a comforting image for many. It represents fun characters in nursery rhymes and is a powerful symbol in many forms of worship. Because of this rich history we have chosen the image of the lamb as the vehicle for our message.

We gave the lamb a large tummy and named it The Dolly Lammy. The name sounds similar to that of an individual whose values are based on creating happiness, compassion and peace throughout the world. It is our intent that each handcrafted Dolly Lammy represents these values.

The Dolly Lammy can be placed anywhere to keep us company and, with the words ‘just breathe’ printed on its arm, to inspire us to practice conscious breathing.

Studies show that health and well-being can dramatically improve if we remember to breathe consciously in moments of need.

Research has shown that a controlled study by York University and a U.S. academic confirms that the driver of a vehicle who remembers to breathe when experiencing anger is much less likely to engage in road rage.

This research shows how beneficial it can be to place a Dolly Lammy on the dashboard of a vehicle to remind us to breathe consciously. This can also hold true for any other activity or setting wherever stress or anxiety may occur.

There are also many studies that show examples of individuals who excel in their field of interest reaching even higher levels of achievement when they continually focus on and practice conscious breathing.

Our vision

It is our vision that The Dolly Lammy, as an inspirational companion, will be the coach that inspires all of us to cultivate the power of conscious breathing to enhance our quality of life.

It is also our vision that the concept of the Dolly Lammy becomes a mentor and that this mentorship will reach from the individual to the global community and together we establish a Breathing Awareness Week WorldWide (BAWWW).
